Tips for NCR hit squads

Post » Mon Aug 06, 2012 5:39 pm

Got any? lol besides armor piercing rounds. I picked up my Assault Carbine again.

I already got the peace treaty from them on the Strip, and I decided it would be fun to shoot up Helios One (doing Sunshine Boogie for the Boomers) with my .45 Auto SMG, mobster style. It was great fun! Unfortunately, the hit squad is back, and met me infront of El Darablo Gas Station. Barely survied that (lvl 19 on Hard, with hardcoe) Thump Thump barely dented them (only one Demolition perk rank) and I kept missing my shots with them, it would always land just past them. Also my .45 Auto SMG was hardly denting them with +P rounds.

So I have a couple options for my lvl 20 perk. either pick the splash damage for greater area of effect for explosives, and buy 40mm Plasma grenades. Or pick weapon handling and purchase a LMG and use the AP rounds only for the hit squads, since they are low in quantity.

What do you guys find useful when encountering them? Besides being on good terms with the NCR lol I'm becoming a big Khan supporter and I am tired of the NCR, so they can go to hell lol But those NCR rangers, man. They are so much tougher then the Legion Assassians.

If it gets too much to handle, I can put on my Great Khan armor when travelling the wasteland.

One other plus side to having the NCR hit squads is that I don't need to pick Jury Rigging to maintain my Desert Combat Armor. Theres usually two rangers out of the hit squad that have NCR Ranger Combat Armor :) They repair my desert armor nicely.

Explosives work great since they are usually near each other. Annabelle does the job just fine.

This is a trick that never fails, you shoot them.

Also use more powerful guns instead of just automatic ones. And get a companion.
