For grandeur, I love Cragonmoor. It has a transportable fuction to several rooms in it. It's pool is lovely with the two dolphins in it.
Ascadian Rose Cottage is another great one, that not only is functional, but there is an Altmer couple who offer transportation as well as wares and victuals. Also, it is interactive with the adoptable family from the great Children of Morrowind by Emma.
Solstheim Castle is a fabulous castle, that for those that like to earn their homes, has a number of quests to solve before you can get settled in properly. Like Cragonmoor, you can teleport back home. The staff are interesting, and the adjacent town is so worth the travel there.
A Good Cottage is another one, and since I enjoy companions, when Princess Stomper's Calvia said she wanted to retire to a "place by the water", it was the first place I thought of for Calvia to enjoy her retirement.
Emma and Grumpy's A DomeHome is another great place, and with the staff and capable companion bodyguard Ingred, very much worth owning. Like all of her works, the staff is interactive with her companions and peoples from the other mods. Especially, Laura Craft.
I tend to like homes with a decent staff there, and if they are interactive with other NPC's, all the better.
Another one that I can't keep Morrowind without is the Japanese House(Abandoned Shrine). That place screams in its awesomeness and that it can be used with the Ninja Girl mod(Kumiko), also screams. The clothing inside alone drew me, with the hakama, keikogi, and tabi.
