Picking up red barrels is useless

I pick up a red explosive barrel in Crysis 1 or 2 and instantly the enemy AI see the barrel floating around in the air, shoot it, it kills me cause I am cloaked. I do not like this one bit, if the gun gets cloaked while we are holding it, throwable objects should also become cloaked when we are holding it.

Maybe because the gun is quite smaller than the human body? A barrel is like what? 1/2 - 3/4 the volume of a soldier?

Just my opinion.

It doesn't really matter how big the gun is considering you are talking about a human that can put on a suit that turns invisible and allows him to run 50 mph. The idea of that is pretty far-fetched. For gameplay purposes they should make red barrels invisible when grabbed. It would add a cool option to the game that existed previously but was pretty much useless since it takes about five bullets of enemy fire to destroy it.

Strafe with Maximum Speed. AI can't hit you.

In Crysis 2, however, yeah. The fact that there's a much bigger delay between throwing the barrel and being able to shoot it on-air in Crysis 2 doesn't help either.

in Crysis 1: Approach the barrel while cloaked. Know where your target enemy is. Instantly switch to strength, pick up the barrel and jump. Strength Throw it towards your target on-air and shoot it: The increased accuracy from Strength Mode will help.

All because you have to "charge" strenght mode, the worst of N2 if you ask me, that and the heavy melee which consumes all your energy
