Celless TES VI?

Should the next installment of The Elder Scrolls series be celless( meaning no loading screens, 1 giant world aka cell)?

I believe that the next installment should have this feature.

No. Though it would be nice, it would likely lead to decreased performance, or lower level of detail in order to keep a good performance. It'd be nice, but I don't think it'd be practical.

The next TES game will most definitely be on the next generation of consoles considering Unreal Engine 4 is being developed right now, and the current gen consoles cannot handle the gaming engine. So, while the next TES will be much more powerful, I still personally don't see this happening. As RomanNumeralll said, it will come with a price to pay detail and performance-wise, no matter how powerful the next game is. It's not a feature that is completely necessary and I would prefer higher performance in other aspects of the game.

This. Basically, the cells are a way that the game keeps itself organized. What's going to take longer to search for the right thing, a filing cabinet or a room full of loose paper? The cell method allows for high detail and good performance.

Besides, almost all games have loading screens. In fact, I can't remember playing a game that didn't have some kind of break or loading screen from area to area without using the "res and de-res" method of chunking up the gameworld.

Sure, why not. I've never been as interested in graphics as a lot of fans around here. I'd rather see the developers spend time on gameplay mechanics, stability, and performance.

If a decrease in graphics could be traded for much larger cells, no loading screens, less loading screens, or much shorter loading screens. . . I am all for it.

Not just graphics-wise detail, but amount of content-wise detail would be decreased. If I fill a room in Skyrim with my whole inventory, the game starts lagging. Without cells, the whole game would be like that.

This series is about exploring big areas. It isn't like Rogue Galaxy where the only time you had loading was when you had to teleport somewhere or something important was happening. Rogue Galaxy also was smaller. A cellless TES game would be just asking for constant crashes.

If they can manage that it would be like heaven. Or at least every city to load in its entirety before you reach the "gate". I love open cities and the possibilities they offer for parkour/ninja playstyles.

I'd rather wait for a few loading screens than lose graphic quality, detail, world detail, game stability and who knows what else.
It would be fantastic if it was possible, but the sacrifices really aren't worth it, IMO.
