Morrowind Code Patch Porting!

Post » Sat Aug 11, 2012 10:55 pm

Hi,

I am trying to run MCP on my morrowind exe, mostly to get the extended map for TR. I am running morrowind with a cider wrapper on a mac, and I tried the following already:

MCP through crossover for mac - doesn't run and gives no error messages.
Python on a mac - must be edited to refer to utility py2app rather than py2exe, but still didn't work.
On a PC in both 32 and 64 bit mode - doesn't run, giving an error message saying there is no available 64 bit architecture.

Has anyone got it to run on a mac? Alternatively has anyone ever run it using python before? Since I expect the python application is more easily ported. The easiest thing would be if I could get a pre-patched exe, but I don't know whether asking for one would break the forum's piracy rules? (obviously I do own the game, and the exe on its own is useless).

Thanks,

Jamieh

I think I have a https://sites.google.com/site/johnmoonsugar/downloads/mcplinux.py?attredirects=0&d=1 of mcp.py that runs on (64-bit) Linux natively. There were just one or two places that need to be changed to run in a 64-bit environment. I didn't test it much, and I don't consider myself a Python programmer, so caveat emptor. But I guess since more than one person is interested in such a thing, the correct thing to do is see if Hrnchamd is interested in it. I'll post a note on the cogs thread.
