Ok, so the position i was thinking of could be the whole of tamriel. To still embrace the large amount of towns, people, and areas, we could sacrifice small towns having no loading screen with realism. A new factions war(Something i loved in skyrim) Could be *drumroll please* rebellion to take down the regime of the imperials. The skyrim civil war(Either won or lost, there could be two different reasons, such as influencing other people to try as well, or people feeling bad for the slaughtered men and women.) The civil war, combined with a final peace between Aldmeri dominion and imperials(Both weakened) Could lead to something of this sort. The main questline will have to have to have some sort of shouts (Once you use fus ro da, can you ever go back) And the factions will have to be stronger, because fighting through leather armor wearing imperials was kind of a cakewalk. With their homeland threatened, the imperials should fight back with Heavy armored soldiers with shields, and light armor wearing archers. More men, more fun.
Second, some new ideas.
One word, spears. Throw em, stab em, grab em and bag em.
Craftable arrows.
Different designs of weapons. Its not like every single sword made of steel will look the same.(Redguard steel is a scimitar, Imperial steel is like a imperial sword, they have different damages and weights.) Other weapons such as glass and daedric keep the same cause they are not different.
Some more choice. Each character could choose a small series of things to pick thier backstory. A nord who worked as a hunter might have the same skill as a wood elf who never shot a bow in his life. Also, all characters could go wherever in tamriel(Starting in their own province) But the main questline would quickly divert them (AFter two or three quests) To the same one that meets in say, Imperial city.
As it is in the future, a few hundred years after skyrim. Some new technology. Flaming arrows (Made by smithing oil, and an arrow) Exploding flaming arrows(Dwarven oil) Which would explode with a FUS RO type explosion. combined with a half YOL.Oil can make 20 arrows. Flaming arrows would light people on fire, attract attention, and light up the area like a torch. Shooting one at night into a camp would attract everyones attention towards it(One) And light up the area so you can pick them off (Two) If you pick up a flaming arrow you will recieve a regular arrow. Seriously, think of the quests. Lighting things on fire, destroying imperial supplies, stuff like that. Also(Because skyrim was sorely lacking) Some more defense stuff.
Thats all i have for now
