[Fallout 2] Subtitle Question

Post » Fri Aug 17, 2012 6:04 am

Hi!

After playing a bit of FO3 GOTY, I became interested in acquiring FO2, if only to see the changes between the versions.

Before I get the game, since my hearing isn't so hot, I'd like to know if FO2 is subtitled, and if so, how well done are the subtitles?

Only a few NPCs in the game are voiced at all and they are fully subtitled.

Thanks for the helpful answer, Okie. Off to order the game!

Most of the game is text only, so you should be fine.

Been a while now since I last played it, but I think the only voices that doesn't have subtitles are the lyrics during the intro song, and the narrator during the intro cutscene and the ending cutscene.

I would recommend the http://www.gog.com/gamecard/fallout_2 over the Steam version, since the GOG version is 100% free of DRM and doesn't need any additional client to run the game.

Getting it on a CD via Amazon. I've never liked Steam and don't use it. I game primarily via Xbox 360, but my older computer can handle FO2 without any issues.

Noted, thank you. I'll check around and see if anyone has a transcript of those. I really couldn't care any less about the song, but the intro and ending cutscenes are important enough to look.

Thanks again for the help, everyone. :D

Intro and ending cutscenes do have subtitles. You just have to enable subtitles under game preferences.
