Crysis MP scene is dead?

Post » Sat Aug 18, 2012 1:39 pm

No offense... But if Crysis 2 was so incredible and fun, then why is the MP scene literally dead? Also look at Crysis 1 MP it was good in the beginning and now it's dead due to the horrible patching in Crysis 1.

I don't understand how Crytek could of botched Crysis 1 MP so much. Sure Crysis 1 MP had it's problems but with correct patching + adding and removing old features it would be a definite competitor with Battlefield 3.

Now looking at other games such as Counter strike, Starcraft 2, and Battlefield 3 etc... they have huge player base. Can any Crytek title say that now? Supposedly Warface is the next big thing from Crytek but looking at their history who knows if it will last?

Sure Crytek might have sold some copies of the game Crysis 2 but at what cost? Remember quite a few people purchased it due to thinking it would be as epic as Crysis 1 MP was. Now that has warn off, now Crytek is considered a generic FPS shooter with GG graphics in the MP scene.

This is the problem with people now a days they have low expectations on what a game should be and they will accept any so so product.

Eventually that's going to wear off. look at Incrysis for example was a big community support of Crysis and it's dead. Yeah Crytek you really know your fan base.

I can't speak for everyone but for my self, I thought Power Struggle was a incredible MP mode with lots of teamwork. Sure it needed fixing but if they had done it properly and added features removed some, would be great for competition not to mention the other modes. Seems they just want nice graphics but generic gameplay. Graphics can only last so long.

So to sum it up From what I been reading from other people on these forums + others forums is they are tired of the same old COD/gameplay they want a teamwork game with vehicles and aircraft etc not just a generic shooter.

Anyways sorry for the rant just saddened at what potential Crysis MP scene could of been.

Just found out player = 16 on pc..... Thanks Crytek

Now lets look back at how MP used to be in Crysis 1

Imagine if this MP mode was balanced good with patches + added good new features and removed old bad ones etc so much potential O_O!

You should be looking at Crysis WARS. Reasonably healthy for its age, it essentially replaced Crysis 1 as the multiplayer staple of the Crysis series.

Yeah but even Crysis Wars patching is so so.

That's why I am kinda hoping for a reboot of it but keeping some of the core game play + adding on it and removing the negative.

When patching a game it's quite tricky, it can either enhance the game or break it. Sadly thats what happened in all of Crysis MP games. Reason I talk about Crysis 1 MP, is because they had a good idea but started patching it horribly wrong.

I find it odd when people talk about patches for stuff because, honestly, the only problem I've had with C2 is the Orbital Strike lag, and I've experienced zero problems with any other Crysis game.

Might just be me, though...

Now the question is why would people want to be limited to this type of mode. Btw driving a pinger is cool but it's not as cool when you can drive jets tanks etc... In other games?

Now lets look at the latest BF3 XPAC with jets+ tanks and huge map size. Hmm which one gives me a wider range of options?

Which one do you think will have huge player base and longer team game play?

No, no, I agree that Crysis/WARS style should totally come back. I was commenting strictly on the "patch" things :)

Ahh ok :D

By the way with the patching, it was numerous things for example like "wall jump" they patched. Stuff such as that it could of been handled better. Not saying they should of kept it the same way but at least added ledge grab etc.. or compromised with a replacement.
