on peryite's sphere

don't quite understand it.

he is the taskmaster, in charge of ordering the lower levels of Oblivion. IE: ... Order. isn't that jyggalag's sphere?

come skyrim, and he is somewhat randomly tacked with pestilence and disease (at least, i can't find any proof where he was associated with it before skyrim). granted, they do give a good reason for it - something about pus and cleansing. according to beggar prince, however, that's kind of namira's domain.

not sure what the hell is going on here. was peryite the weakling made to replace jyggalag's role of order when all the other princes cursed him?

perhaps i'm just being a too literal-minded, but a daedric prince whose sphere is overlapped by a stronger prince's affiliation sounds pretty useless, and i could only see peryite existing just because there was some type of hole left from jyggy-pants.

help me understand this

It's similar, but not quite the same. Peryite is more about ordering than order; if we treat Oblivion like a fast-food chain, Peryite is like the manager, making sure that all the underlings are fulfilling their duties and that all the numbers add up at the end of the day.

...Actually, if we stick with this metaphor, it kinda explains the plague and sickness angle too :P

EDIT: And Peryite has been associated with disease since before Skyrim.

Order, as in population control. At least, in my opinion.

Jyggalag's order is the dull, lifeless stasis.

It is speculated that Peryite may have enveloped Jyggalag's sphere, seeing as how he is prepped to become Auri-El in the next kalpa. Jyggalag is to Auri-El as Sheogorath is to Lorkhan.

I'd take Skyrim's load screens with a pinch of salt, though.

Peryite even though being depicted as a dragon is the weakest of the princes. Peryite's sphere is Pestilence, and cleaning up, tidying, and organizing lower planes of oblivion.
