Skill Increase = Attribute Increase?

Could someone offer a breakdown of how many Attribute points you based on how many skill increases you have at level up? For instance...

If you increase your Heavy Armor Skill by 10, at level up you can add 5 points to Endurance...

Skill Increase = Attribute Increase
10 = 5
9 = ?
8 = ?
7 = ?
6 = ?
5 = ?
4 = ?
3 = ?
2 = ?
1 = ?
0 = 1

0 = 1

Like so...

Skill Increase = Attribute Increase
10 = 5
9 = 4
8 = 4
7 = 3
6 = 3
5 = 3
4 = 2
3 = 2
2 = 2
1 = 2
0 = 1

Let me offer you what UESP says. I think this is what you are looking for:

When you level you get to raise the values of three Attributes. The amount you can raise an attribute depends on how many skill points you have gained in skills governed by this attribute (major and minor).

0 skill points grants a +1 bonus
1-4 skill points grants a +2 bonus
5-7 skill points grants a +3 bonus
8-9 skill points grants a +4 bonus
10 or more skill points grants a +5 bonus
It is never possible to gain more than a +5 attribute bonus when leveling up. Attribute bonuses not used at one level (or surplus points past 10 in the skills governed by an attribute) do not roll over to the next level.

An easy way to remember this is 4-3-2-1. The first 4 increases give you a 2x multiplier, the next 3 increases give you a 3x multipleir, the following 2 increases give you a 4x multiplier, and the last 1 increase gives you a 5x multiplier.

Many thanks guys. I tried to find this on the UESP but it eluded me. My search skills are weak.

I like to have my attributes form so kind of pattern (not sure why exactly) but it bugs me when I end up have say a 63 in a stat as opposed to 60, or something like that. I didn't realize on my last character (capped at level 30) that you HAD to select 3 stats on level up. By the time I figured it out I couldn't help having all sorts of odd numbered stats. Yes weird on my part. Anyway I'm plotting out this new character (will be capped at 20) before I start him, and this info really helps. Thanks again!

Your search skills are probably fine. There is just so darn much yummy info on UESP wiki that it takes lots of time there to learn how to really navigate it well. :)

Yes, I used to cap at 30, but then I figured out there is not a single piece of leveled quest reward type of gear that I really care about, so now I cap at 20. Nothing I want or need above that. Capping low, does increase the challenge of attribute gains however because you have fewer levels to achieve them. I find that some efficient leveling techniques help. I also just plain ignore several attributes which not only makes building the other attributes easier, but much more sharply focuses and defines my character. My current character is a mystic archer and completely ignores endurance, strength and luck. The only reason she pays any attention to personality is purely for RP. Lol..
