There's already http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1150059-the-engine-and-possible-co-op/, and the mods have been pointing people to it for a while now.

I also doubt very many players would take advantage of it if a major flaw like this became aparent because it's just not nearly as fun if theres no competition involved, I mean thats the whole point of pvp right?

Hehe, say that to the 12-year-olds. That's why I refuse to play any major PvP games like Black Ops till after school is back in session.

But yah, as Alois Hammer has said, there's already another thread, so we can close this one and take it over there.

I am a single player gamer....with the exception of Age of Conan. I love playing TES games as a single player....having said that.... I think I would love a co-op version but it would need to be a seperate deal where you create a seperate character. To me it would be very important to keep my single player game all to myself but having a co-op mode would seem to add a whole new layer of replayability.

I've just pre-ordered Two Worlds 2 and a big part of what's driving my interest is the co-op mode, being able to create a village and level that up and speicalize it for a trade sounds awesome, just hope they can pull it off.

I agree that in major pvp games like black ops that only have a very short and pretty bad single player campaign you will get many immature users abusing everything they can. However I'm by no means sugesting that Skyrim should be a major PvP game. The main feature of the game should still be a huge and expansive singleplayer story and side quests and all the good stuff from OB and MW the arena would just make for a very fun addition. Now correct me if I'm wrong but I believe huge rpgs that requier actual intelegince and dedication to suceed have a very different following then most PvP games. A following which doesn't really include those anoying 12 year olds. Also if the arena is set up as i sugested it would requier that you play the single player part of it to be any good or even have the necesary skills to exploit any glitches.

But these two threads are not the same. The one you linked to is about how the new engine can make a co-op work and does not include an opening for talking about an arena. This thread is about how the co-op could be integrated and ideas for an arena. They really are 2 different threads, so please dont close this one.

Not only does multiplayer (especially matchmaking) seem like something that Beth has no interest in and doesn't fit with their previous games, how would it even work? How do you deal with always being able to access your menu items at any time (even in combat)? Any PvP battle would also just become a battle of who has more health potions. Plus it would just look weird when someone entered their inventory and were frozen/invincible or something in-world.

That's why I would only want a co-op version and think it should be seperate from your single player game. At least in that mode you are helping each other, exploring the world and experiencing it with friends.

I agree Beth doesn't seem at all interested in this and the chances of multiplayer are very slim but that doesn't mean that I can't hope and defend my idea. To fix the menu problem just make it so you can still use them but it doesn't pause the game or else people would just open a menu anytime they wanted time to think or anything, thats why you hotkey items (so maybe this would only work on pc I don't know anything about hotkeying and the console versions). And I don't think it wouldn't really fit in any less than the arena in OB did. I mean in OB the people you fight arn't anywhere else in the game they just apear for the sole purpose of fighting you. It could be like this with an arena your oponents just apear behind the other gate it makes just as much sense as the OB arena the only difference is your facing other people not npcs.

We have one thread for discussion of co-op/multiplayer in TES games located http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1119156-official-tes-multiplayer-thread/page__st__40__p__16826110__hl__multiplayer__fromsearch__1#entry16826110 and that is where all discussion for multiplayer of any kind in TES belongs. This game will not be a multiplayer or co-op and thus there is no point of allowing more threads for it's discussion.

Please use the linked thread for this discussion.
