Alright, so the forums have slowed a bit recently and I decided to start this thread to make some conversation.

I was talking with PiemanFiddy maybe a day ago and I mentioned something that has sparked my interest.

How do you think F3 would've been if the main 'good guy' faction wasn't Lyons BoS but somebody else.

Perhaps the Regulators would be more prominent playing the role of LBoS by fighting back the supermutants and patrolling the wasteland.

Also Rivet City Security is slightly better armed (with assault rifles) and for one path you're working for them (imagining the other path is siding with the Enclave). They're the ones who are guarding Project Purity before the Enclave show up and take it (the scientists are from there after all).

So for the quest line the Enclave is ROFL stomping Rivet City who tell you to help them by gaining allies with promises of water (you'd do the same as the Enclave, except this is to make the wasteland more accepting of you). You have a few options for allies:
-Megaton: Who have a militia force instead of everybody just owning a weapon. You have to promise them free water.
-The BoS (if in the game at all): Who are withdrawn like they were in the originals if they are in game at all. You have to promise them any technology taken from the Enclave as well as free water.
-Paradise Falls: Who are well armed and well trained. You have to promise to consider all territory north of them their's and help them get the slaves from the Temple of the Union.
-Regulators: Who are large, well armed, well trained, and directly opposed to Paradise Falls. You have to promise them the absolute destruction of Paradise Falls, help clearing DC, and cheap water for everybody.
-Tenpenny Tower: Who have more of a military than a well armed security force and are directly opposed to Megaton. You have to destroy Megaton for them to work for you (all trade would go through Megaton while they want it to go through Tenpenny Tower) and promise them free water for them to work for you.

I think this would be a lot better than how it was. The BoS are no longer the white knights (they only help for the technology), there is a constant feeling of fear simply because the Enclave are better than the best faction you can get on your side, and there is the option to side with the Enclave.

Just my opinion. What do you think this would do and what would you have changed?
