A question to some modders.

Post » Thu Aug 30, 2012 2:58 am

I am curious to why many modders make mods were the armor is well a little revealing so if you could please tell me.I do not want to offend and if you are offended I am sorry.

Because they want to?

It's their choice, after all they're doing the work

I think you know the potential audience of video games. No surprise that the most modders are of the same age/six too.
Some modders make them just because they want, others cater for users so making such mods is the easiest way to get attention/votes/endorsemants/comments etc.
Don't like - don't use. Not a problem.

Hey, there's tons of kinky clothing for guys out there too!

Anyways, I think a lot of people use Oblivion and similiar games as a place to act out fantasies that aren't possible in real life. Personally, I find excessively "sixy" armor to be distracting and immersion-breaking, but I can understand the attraction.

Really, mods are the perfect venue for this kind of stuff. Many publishers release games that are packed with scantily clad females, bulky men and no in-between, which can alienate people who want to play a charcter that doesn't fit those stereotypes. Hell, most rpgs don't even let you create characters of different ethnicities, or if they do, it's just a skin texture that's slightly more tan than the others. It's nice to have a choice, and this way it isn't being forced upon others.

Why the hell do some modders make there armour so skimpy is dosent make sense and is pretty iffy.So I ask you this why(besides the obvious reason:P).By the way I put it in the Oblivion mod fourms because oblivon is the biggest offender but skyrim has seen its far share too.
I kinda don't wanna get into this, but:
Why does it not make sense - in the context of a fantasy game...?
Is it a problem for you?
I'm just curious as to why you bring it up...

I don't think you know how this "not insulting" concept works.

As far why I do it, I do it because I like it. Why should it matter to you at all?

I really don't want to discuss Tera here. In fact, I'm positive that absolutely no one wants to have that discussion, so how about you drop it?

And I already answered your question, and its the answer as to why all mods are created, "Because we can"

Dude.
There's nothing to be curious about. It is what it is.
Many people - (including me. and probably Neph) - use full body mods as well. Why? BECAUSE, that's why.
It's a non-topic.

Perhaps this thread could be recreated in Community Discussion, as it applies to more than just Oblivion: http://www.gamesas.com/forum/18-community-discussion/

It's an interesting and worthwhile topic, but ImperialSnob's opening question is phrased rather rudely.

Because nudity is our natural state. Because sensuality arises naturally from having senses. Because sixuality is as natural as breathing, eating, sleeping, etc.

All of the above, and more. But I think those are a good start, if you truly wish to understand.

Note: For what it is worth, I prefer not to use revealing clothing, and especially not revealing armour, for my own reasons. But I will do whatever I can to defend the rights of those who choose to, should it come to that.
