Hey all bare with me plz, I ordered my print copy of Oblivion game book and it's on the way in shipping, so I have to depend on you all until it arrives next week, sorry?? Question: I did start the main quest with this Martin guy but got side tracked for a couple of days and I did close 3 gates so far, now in my game every where i travel to either horse back or fast travel there are 2 gates flanking me all the time, IS THIS NORMAL?? I would expect a gate to pop up here and there but 2 gates on both sides of me is my game messing up, or should I continue the Martin quest, will this help fix the gate problem??

The more you do the main quests, the more gates will open. They appear randomly, but at fixed locations. Some locations are close to each other so you could possibly see 2 gates very close to each other, but that shouldn't happen too often.

I can't even picture what you're talking about, but it sounds hella-annoying.

nope I'm on xbox, and it's very annoying yes... I live in the Battle -Horn castle and now today a fourth gate opened up again next to my home it is circling my castle for some weird reason, lol... What do I do?? Finish the main quest will that stop the gates??

I see what you are saying by the gates being close together and yes I think that is what I am seeing so thank you I don't feel my game is bugged anymore now I just want to cry if that is how many gates we really need to close, lol.....

You don't have to close them all. The reason you're seeing them all around one area is that they open when you enter that part of the map. They open randomly in any of those possible locations, but the most gates that can ever open is 60.

so is there any quest that actually finishes opening the gates? It would be nice to finish them all at once so then they are gone and I can do other things on the is game....

Yes, finish the main quest.

You don't need to close them all, but those sigil stones you get after closing gates are pretty powerful enchanting items. Also, some of the alchemical ingredients grow inside the oblivion gates and after you finish the MQ you won't be able to get them.
