Fort Grief "Caught in the Hunt"

Post » Thu Feb 25, 2010 9:11 am

I need your help please.

I have done Fort Grief "Caught in the Hunt" and killed all 3 hunters, came out and watched Aleron die, waited for the orc to talk to me. Killed him as well as the archer. Looted everyone and went back inside to open the gate. Activated the lever inside and came back out however the gate does not open. I went back in and activated the lever again and went back to the gate which responded as 'the gate is opened elsewhere". Went back in and activated the lever once again, came back outside : gate still closed although no messages.

I went through 2 more times and still this gate does not open. Any codes to open that bloody gate as I do not have a save prior starting this quest.

This is the last journal entry : The key I discovered on the Orc Hunter was indeed a fake and the real key was on Kurdan's body. He'd never intended to let us leave whether we won his demented hunt or not. The real key should allow me to unlock the gateroom inside the Hunter's Run and then leave Fort Grief. I will then have to bring Ursanne the sad news.

PS. I am patched with the latest unoffical patch as well.

Just making sure, you are activating the lever behind the lock gate door in the fort right? The real key unlocks the gate door leading to a lever which opens the gate.

Anyway if it is then just head toward the gate and type "tcl" into the console command and get out of console (without the ""). Once you do that you have no collsion so you can go right through the gate. Then go back into console and retype "tcl" to undo put back collsion.

Yes it was the lever behind the lock gate in the fort.

Used TCL and got through the gate, turned collision back on and everything running fine.

Thanks a million

Where is the lever to get out of the fort? I got the "real" key - but where does this key become useful? What gate does it open? I am still indside the fort, looking at the iron gate that says can't be opened at this area. So just like coming in, there was a lever to open it.. but that was on the other side... any help in this would be much appreciated!

Go back inside the fort, through the wooden door. Not far inside, there's a locked gate, with a lever behind it.

Here's a http://images.uesp.net//9/95/OB-Map-HuntersRun01.jpg. Use the real key to unlock the gate at 'J'. Then turn the lever inside the tiny room.

Here's the quest http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Caught_in_the_Hunt.
