I just finished doing the quest of completing sheogorath's staff by cleaning the pools of dementia and mania but I didn't get shadowrend while fighting my shadow..Did I miss something

That is strange. Maybe it fell through the floor when your shadow droped it on death or something.

When I have had my characters equip other quest rewards and modded weapons, the clones would unequip shadowrend before they died, and I would get nothing at all. I have a save that always ends up dropping Spellbreaker instead of Shadowrend, because it is in my characters possesion when I activated the column.

Today is partially a lucky day. I saved a game just before stepping into the pool of reflection. I fought the shadow again using my favorite fire spell the wizards fury and defeated him with the goldbrand sword. I couldn't find the shadowrend but it looked like he was laying on it. After several minutes of dragging him around, I was able to roll him over and the sword was kinda like , stuck to his back like a quiver. I couldn't get the hand icon to pick it up, nor could I knock it loose. I really like that sword.. I am open to any suggestions.. Thanks

The shadow will use the best equipment the player has, and if the player's sword/axe is "better" than Shadowrend, then they just won't have it to drop. So if you don't get one, you already have something better, and it's no major loss, except as a trophy (it's always priced way above what you can sell it for).

If you really want the trophy, you need to drop any "better" sword before triggering the shadow (and then pick it up again if you can't fight effectively without it). I generally do that quest with as much reflect damage as I can get, and summon creatures to do the work for me.

If you found a sword on the body that you couldn't take, it would be the clone of your own, rather than Shadowrend.

I got the sword. Just wanted to let you all know so that you could help someone else. I noticed that while fighting the shadow, it kept switching between a sword and a knife. I got it right near death and when he went to the sword , I killed hin and was able to pick up the shadowrend.. Thanks

Great news! :foodndrink: I have found that the best solution for me, is to fight my double with an unenchanted weapon (usually a blade) to guarantee a drop. Every time I fought with an enchanted weapon, I would never get the reward, or it would glitch just as it did for you. One thing I do remember doing was on a previous character, fighting with the enchanted weapon, then switching to the un-enchanted version, right before I was able to finish him. I didn't know about this drop for four characters.... :facepalm:

Good to hear that you got it. The problem i usually encounter is that my clone normally uses a bound weapon spell, but anyway, enjoy shadowrend
