Enclave Door doesn't open.

Post » Thu Feb 25, 2010 8:01 pm

Hello all,

I am trying to use the EcvDoorBg01 as part of my mod and for whatever reason the door doesn't allow me to open it. It won't even give me an activation prompt "Open door" I checked the door itself to make sure nothing like "Initially Disabled" for example was checked. The EcvDoorSm01 I'm using works just fine. But this one won't. Any ideas as to this odd behavior?

Thanks,
Doing

Since there is no reason for the door not to open, I would have to say you 'embeded' the door 'inside' another collision zone, like a wall.

The door has not script on it, it contains a 'name', and it has an open and close animation on the nif.

Press F4 to show the wireframe of the collisions for around where you placed the door. Make sure the door is not 'inside' one of the collision zones.

Yea that was it. I had an object whose collision zone enveloped the door. But this leads to another question. The object I used that had the oversize collision zone had that collision zone based on other objects that are not even present yet, like it's part of some kit. EcvWarRoom01 is the object in question. Is there a way to get rid of some of those collision zones so that it does not interfere with my other objects?

I used Encwarroom06-09 to make my round room. Those pieces are made to fit together in a specific order to allow for the doorways. You have to put two pieces together, each with a half doorway to make room for the door. Otherwise the wall of one of the pieces will cover part of the doorway, leading to the problem you have.
