Is medicine useless?

Survival seems to be far superior.

Medicine is more convenient.

Survival actually requires you to go hunting, and if you're in a tough situation, you can't just eat a Bloatfly slider and ta-da: you need to stack it on top of Gecko Steak or Bighorner steak. Medicine is just stims for basic wounds and Super Stims for life-threatening situations.

Also survival takes weight, so weight management could be an issue, depending on character build.
In the long run, survival can be superior, but it requires extra work and effort.

Medicine influences how much you get each time you shoot up a stimpak or a Mex-X. So no It is not really useless, no skill is useless

Without it there are several occasions where you cannot help people.
I think Forlorn Hope and Nellis requires you to have Medicine to get access to those doctors by helping the patients.
Isn't there also stuff you can craft with Medicine? Or is that with Science?
