am just finally realizing why people love morrowind!

please forgive me my droning on in advance,as i have never been able to get into the game up till now.even though morrowind was my first elder scrolls game (got it on on xbox originally),i just couldn't get into it i'm sorry to say (it was the sheer difficulty/not having a clue as to what to do e.t.c).
the first elder scrolls game that i really got into was oblivion on 360,then followed by skyrim (360 also).
well due to buying a guitar/amp a while ago i ended up selling my 360/games (about 4-5 months ago).

i have a copy of morrowind formy ancient pc though ;-)

i kept trying to get into it,but due to my rubbish gaming ability, have barely ventured further than the first couple of quests (for the main quest).then getting frustrated/changing my character.

it has always frustrated me that i cannot get into the game.

well i have heard of mods for the game.they sound interesting i said to myself.i'll just try and run a few simple ones.

i got the ravenloft house mod (as it got top marks by people on another morrowind site/liked the idea of having a house to store stuff/rest e.t.c

i also got the morrowind code patch mod (just to make sure that the mods run smoothly on my old pc).

i was pleasantly surprised to discover that the morrowind mod had over 900000 gold that came with it :-D

well now i said to myself, cannot let that money go to waste ;-) i had just created another character to restart the game (for the umpteenth time/he is a dark elf spellsword under the ritual sign).

since then i have been getting totally absorbed into the game (along with realizing what you all ready know about the game, just how fantastic it is DOH!)

i am embarrassed that i have cheated somewhat in getting into the game finally, but in my defense i really am rubbish at games (even though i have been playing them since the mid 80's).

it is a stunning game, that i just want to explore more of it's world.

apologies for the long winded post, but i just wanted to get it off my chest ;-) i do actually plan on playing it properly (as in no cheats/cash bonuses from the beginning) sometime :-)

Glad to hear it. There's a lot of depth to find in this world, for sure.

... what mod gives you 900000??? :P I don't think that's very balanced

The MCP does more than to make mods run smoothly, it also fixes numerous bugs with the engine that gamesas never fixed, as well as multiple improvements to the base game (such as no more rain going through outdoor platforms.)

But, it's good to see that you enjoyed Morrowind. For many, the "best" Elder scrolls game was Morrowind. For others, it's Daggerfall (the one before Morrowind.)
