Questions about Daedric Planes

Post » Thu Sep 13, 2012 3:19 am

People can visit Daedric planes while still alive or be drawn there after they die if they were a follower in life. What happens when a resident of the plane dies, such as being killed by a visitor or by one of the resident daedra, if they were brought there after dying on the mortal plane?

Do they exist on the same level as living residents who are inside visiting the plane? Is it a sort of second life where the soul is only taking a physical form do to the will of the daedra? Is it possible for one reformed inside a plane to return to the mortal world? Is the form taken by a mortal's soul in an afterlife on a plane subject to the same limits they were in life (i.e. do they still have to eat/sleep/will they still age/etc)?

If killed in the plane (again) would the soul be able to pass into the Dreamsleeve if the Prince didn't have a reason to reclaim it? If it was reclaimed could the person be brought back to life in the plane an infinite number of times? Do the rules vary from plane to plane?

On the other hand, what happens when a random visitor who perhaps accidentally wandered into a daedic plane dies there? If they were not a follower of the particular Daedra in life will the Prince claim their soul (I suppose it depends on which Prince it is)? If another Prince had claim on that person's soul will they fight for it?

I've always wondered this since the Shivering Isles. Although I think it doesn't matter if you are alive or you are dead since I think the Princes "own" you literally. Look at the Hill of Suicides. Sheogorath made that so people don't kill themselves. Since Oblivion isn't Mundus(I think), both the dead and the living can exist equally. Maybe that explains why there was such a heavy dislike for adventurers-they are alive, and most people in the SI are probably either dead or were invited(not including those adventurers made insane by Xedilian)

I think if you die in their realm, they can bring you back infinitely. Either that or you respawn through the waters of Oblivion if you are aligned.

What about that one quest where you killed that guy who asked so it apparently wasn't a suicide? What happened to his soul? If living and dead were to exist equally on a plane wouldn't that mean there would be nothing stopping the people who died in Mundus from returning if they so desired given the chance? Is there a huge difference between someone who is invited and someone who just happens to enter into the plane on a whim when a door is open if they technically never died?

Would the respawning thing, if mortals can truly be subject to it, effectively make them a daedra?
