Fresno, California in the Fallout world?

Post » Sat Feb 27, 2010 6:51 am

As a resident of California I loved the Fallout games because they offered a familiar locale, an irradiated, mutant infested one however. Yet, I haven't really found or seen any remnants of Fresno, my town, in my adventures through the Wasteland. Fresno is a big deal, we're really big on agriculture around here so I wouldn't say Fresno is an obscure place. I know LA and Bakersfield exist, but no Fresno.

I'm just curious if anybody has any information that might help me.

Well, to cover every single area that is in the real world would be exhausting, Fresno probably just never got noticed. It's also entirely possible that Fresno just never got rebuilt after the war, fading into memory.

Most likely, Fresno was indirectly destroyed by the nuclear rain that came after the bombs fell. The radioactivity poisoned the soil, making it useless for the agriculture industry that it was centered around.

The likelyhood that a vault was built around is small, and more likely than not establishments were built around the Vaults, because it's easier.

Fresno would be populated by brahmin barons and NCR sharecropper farmers.
