Just wondering if anyone knows all the codes for the computers around the place, i.e: Super Mart etc

I have played through once, and my partner traded it <_< :swear: so im going to buy FO3 again as well as FO:NV :fallout: and go though again, but would appreciate any help with the codes :) thanks again

*really looking forward to FO:NV!! *

I'm pretty sure they're just random. I've certainly don't recall ever seeing any sort of pattern.

The trick (not a spoiler here) is to remove all the brackets as possible.

First though choose a random word, since removing the brackets not only removes duds but also replenishes one try - if you don't choose a random word you'd lose that replenishment.

Then what I do is take that word I have chosen, and for example it says 2/8 correct. I count the letters seeing which 2 letters are correct in the same place as the word I chose randomly, and move on from there.

They are pretty easy to hack:

Select the first word, the terminal displays, for example 2/8 correct (the latter number depends on the difficulty of the hack).

Find a word that has the correct number of letter in the same place. When you have more than one word tried, find a word that has correct number of letters in all the words you've tried.

When you have only one try remaining, start looking for brackets: () [] {}, there maybe other marks inside them. They may remove wrong words, and hopefully one of them will replenish the tries. If not, shutdown the terminal and retry, otherwise return to previous step.

When you have only one try remaining, shutdown the terminal (the red button on lower right corner of the terminal) unless you are absolutely sure the next word is the correct one. You can try indefinetly if you shut it down before using all tries.

I usually just select the 1st 3 words, if it doesn't come up I remove the brackets and then if still not done I'll bother to work it out, or if i'm feeling really lazy i'll just keep selecting the 1st 3 then quit out and start again till it accesses as one of those 1st 3 :user:

The higher your luck the easier hacks and lockpicking etc, actually I believe just about everything becomes :fallout:

If you can't figure it out after three tries then just exit. You'll be able to go back in and try again after that. There's really no need to be concerned about missing any of them. It may sometimes take awhile, but you'll eventually get it. I think it's too easy myself, along with lockpicking. You should only get one shot at them, unless you get those perks later.

words ending in ING are a good starting point. usually if a password doesn't end in ING, then all the ING ending words can be eliminated.
