The men of Tamriel who never truly left, we're told in spite of the Atmoran volkism favored by the Septims, were called - collectively - Nedes.

And yet The Adabal-A states:

Perrif's original tribe is unknown, but she grew up in Sard, anon Sardarvar Leed, where the Ayleids herded in men from across all the Niben: kothri, nede, al-gemha, men-of-'kreath (though these were later known to be imported from the North), keptu, men-of-ge (who were eventually destroyed when the Flower King Nilichi made great sacrifice to an insect god named [lost]), al-hared, men-of-ket, others

Also this business of Nilichi and his Insect God. Bal and Vehk, no?

If I remember correctly, there was an in-game book that criticized the use of the word "Nede" to describe the native proto-Cyrodiilics. I think it might have been Frontier, Conquest, and Accomodation, but I could be wrong about that. Whatever book it was, it pointed out that "Nede" was the name of a tribe that was later taken as a collective term.

Edit: It was not Frontier, Conquest, and Accomodation. I was actually remembering the UESP article on "Nede," which points out what you mentioned from The Adabal-a and cross-references it with Frontier as well as the PGE 3rd Edition and Before the Ages of Man.

I use the term Nede to refer to Historically native Tamrielic humans and in the modern sense those who come from their blood (Cyrodiils, Bretons, and Nords). Am I terribly wrong? The Adabal-A is a bit confusing toward the matter.

I don't see how Nilichi and [lost] are Bal and Vehk. Or did you mean Vehk and Bal? Either way, I think there's too little context for a connection to be drawn.
