For about 1 year and a half ago, I got Morrowind. However, when I start a new game, I don't get the beginning cutscene of the nightmares and then getting woken up by the Dunmer. Is this some sort of programming issue or a setting I overlooked?

Also, when I first played Morrowind, the NPCs won't talk, they just stared at me funny. Then I learned to turn the subtitles on. But even when I turn the subtitles on, the NPCs aren't "talking" still unless they're from Tribunal ("I'll thank you to be brief, Sera") or Bloodmoon ("You're accursed bloodline ends here"). Is this also a programming/setting issue?

Or do I just have some sort of f*cked up version of Morrowind.

Steam, or Hard copy?

If it's Steam, then your dl went wrong somewheres.

If it's a hardcopy then some files may be corrupted, specifically the voice and video.

Either way, the files have to be reloaded or replaced.
