FO 1 and 2 Graphics and Screen size. (by Peeved!)

Post » Fri Sep 21, 2012 12:47 pm

I bought FO1 on steam and it s graphics colors are really scrambled.
I bought FO2 on Disc & it wouldn'' t install cause it was missing a dll file.
If i'm in the wrong section it's because i couldn't find maintenance for FO1&2
My GRIPE -complaint- is why cant i buy games online or off the shelf only to find out I can't install it or I need to patch it.
Especially online peeves me . Why sell a game
with no WARNING re: may have ... problem. I always check the computer section it will run on.
When I have probs it usually means going into Dir's to delete, rename, download & patch files.
Well:
1: I have limited hand function due to a Spinal Cord Injury
2: I'm a Dinosaur when it comes to working with files, ie:not PC literate
Come on Devs, help me & my fellow Disabled gamers, of which there's alot of
P.S. make games with this in mind. eg: i like games that have a lot of mouse control.
YHANKYOU, pLEASE HELp

Fallout 1&2 from gog.com come cheap (6$ US) and ready to play. Otherwise you may need to go to http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/dload.php for patches. Have you tried using comparability mode with Fallout 2's install program?

As for Compatibility Mode, right click the install program, select properties then go the the compatibility tab. It's usually used for old programs made to work with newer Windows versions, by making it think its using the older windows. By checking the box by "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and using Windows 98 or XP in the drop down box. It may help with the dll problem.
