Would like all Fellow Irish users, to join with me here and discuss your taughts on what happend to Ireland explain your theories etc.
Even though we know hardly anything about the Post -apocalyptic version of Europe in general its still fun to speculate.

Now before we get started i'd appreciate no stereotypes be mentioned.


In my opinion like in real world Ireland most likely opted to remain neutral during the rescource wars, but collapsed like its neighbours. even if neutral
i'd doubt the Republic of Ireland would be a target during the great war, but Northern Ireland most likely was because in Fallout's alternate timeline i think its said that Great Britain still included Northern Ireland up until the great war. However if Northern Ireland was nuked the resulting radiation would affect the many rivers and would irradiate and mess up all of Irelands water Supply and even if Ireland wasn't attacked at all. Britain getting mass nuked would effect it anyway with the irradiated Irish sea flowing into Irish rivers.

In Terms of Post-war Society, The Irish most likely collapsed back into ancient like Kingdoms each led by a differen't king and i would like to think a high king is vying for control of the Island, . Raiders with Celtic influence would be rampant. Mutated irish fauna, Radhares, Raddeers
Radseals etc, Various mutants based on Creatures from Irish mythology. Anyway thats my theory.

Understood it perfectly mate, since i am Irish and from Tallaght.

All of Ireland would have been a target during the Great War. I am not sure what natural resources Ireland has, but if they "remained neutral" (if there was such a thing) during the resources wars. Irland would have completely collapsed due to lack of resourses. It wouldn't have been a pretty place before the Great War.

Great Britain might not have been so easy to let it go, again it depends on what resources Ireland has. Ireland could have been a total burden to the resource starved GB trying to hold on to it's Empire.

So it could have been that Ireland was looted for whatever resources it had by GB. Possibly causing conditions like the potato famines of old only alot worse. Causing religious tentions and riots that GB would put down with armed forces.

Or Ireland was cut free from Great Britain, left to it's own defences and resources of the Island. The nation then collapses due to not having resources and no one that wants to help.

Either way Ireland was nuked to hell along with the rest of the world.

Probably Britain said if we go down we are taking Ireland with us lol. But yeah you make a very good point, Ireland was probably annexed by Britain.
or voluntairly reabsorbed into the British commonwealth.
