Is the Shehai just a more powerful Bound Sword?

So I've been delving into Redguard/Ra'Gada history and something that came up was the Shehai. It's made out to be an incredibly powerful sword formed by the user's mind/spirit. Really, it doesn't seem that different from a Bound Sword. Am I missing something, or is the Shehai really nothing more than that?

As mentioned in that thread, to say Shehai sword-singing is like using a bound sword is as similar as yelling at someone to a Thu'um.
