lore question in regards to keeping with lore:

the akaviri are the snow elves right? and they are extinct right? they used to live in the north of the continent like in skyrim right? and they are the ones that were similar to oriental culture like having katanas right?

is there another possible known lore source for oriental culture and katanas and oriental type weaponry etc?

Akaviri are not the snow elves

Akaviri, are not native to Tamriel, they hail from the distand land of Akavir, they are certainly NOT Fallmer.
They do indeed have oriental influences.
I don't know of other influences, although the Altmer picture in the PGE 3 does have a somewhat oriental look. No other references that I know of though in Altmer culture.

Akavir is a continent located east of Tamriel. The continent that is north of Skyrim is called Atmora.
Not much is known about the Akaviri homeland but a few http://www.imperial-library.info/content/guide-akavir and a http://www.imperial-library.info/content/disaster-ionith. You are probably mixing up the snow elves with the snow demons, which are a beast race of some sort.
Imperial culture is heavily inspired by the Akaviri race, the Tsaesci (which is a major topic of it's own).

The games have taken place on the continent of Tamriel.
To the east is another continent called Akavir. Akaviri are from Akavir.

The Falmer are the 'snow elves' that resided in the northern coast of Tamriel and Solstheim.
If you want to learn more about the Falmer, they are featured in Dawnguard DLC. You can also probably get what you're looking for by using Google as well.
