I never played Elder Scroll game before, and after Skyrim went out I decided it's time to start. I decided to pick Oblivion as it was considered superb 5 years ago and I wanted to tie up the storyline knots (even though I understand there aren't maybe storyline knots between the two).
After reading the game manual I'm mostly confused, as this game seems to have a lot of attributes and mechanics. Therefore, I probably going to let the game mechanics sink in before trying to use any major mods. I found around many suggested mods, but mostly are addons for late game rather for beginners.
What I wish to do now before playing the game is to improve the visual aspect of the game. I did some research and I'm aware about texture packs like QTP3 and Reduced QTP3 etc. But the more I was reading about it, the more and more I was getting confused by the share amount of mods out there. Is it possible to list some basic mods I WANT to use for Visual Improvement? I guess that means:
* 1 Good Texture Pack
* 1 Good Faces/Body Texture pack (as I'm un-able to create even something remotely propotional to a normal human face when creating my Hero)
* 1 Good NPC Faces
That's about it I think. I prefer to avoid New Races at the moment. If you have any idea for something else that is great o have (like for example Armor or Item Textures) - feel free to suggest it. Im also tossing Natural Enviorments and Unique Landscapes as I heard they are quite nice.
I know from some reading that for the full QTP3 over 512MB is needed. I installed Reduced QTP3 (lite version) along with Unique Landscapes, Natural Enviorments and some Faces/Body Packs I experiment with and when testing VRAM (Testing means moving around the Outter Prison after Tutorials where the Lakes and Castle are) I wasn't taken about 250MB. But maybe I should benchmark is in a crowded town or something?
My Spec is as follows:
Intel Core 2 Quad 6600 2.4Ghz
4Mb RAM
Radeon 4800 HD (512MB Vram)
Thanks!
