Cannot get into this

Post » Thu Sep 27, 2012 11:26 am

I cannot get into this game properly. I've been playing quite a while and i'm still bored stiff. I mean i really do want to like this game but its so boring at the moment compared to other games i don't have a reason to like it/find it interesting.

I do not mean to slate the game as this game is very popular with my friends but could anyone give me advice or tell me how long i should play until making a strong decision whether to stop playing or not.

Thank you very much, all advice is appreciated, Jeazz. :)

How long, exactly, is "quite a while" for you?

a week of playing (not constantly, about 1.5/2.5 hours a night if that)

Well Fallout 3 is very different from the Orginals and New Vegas. But since you have the same problem when you played the orginals... I guess Fallout isn't really your thing.

What type of games do you play? I am guessing ones that don't have firearms.

I like the elder scrolls (Skyrim, Morrowind, Oblivion etc)
I like to play fable from time to time
Halo is a good game but i don't often play it
Those are the main 3 really, the others that i play i don't play often.

For getting into Fallout, Fallout 2 and New Vegas I suggest you try playing as a pacifist type character. Focus on speech and charisma. Other skills would be doctor or first aid. Get perks like animal friend and so on. If you are going to use weapons try using spears, throwing knives, rocks and other melee weapons.

For Fallout 3, suggest going with melee and unarmed characters.

For all the games, talk with as many people as you can.

I agree with Styles that you may want to try a melee or unarmed character. You may also want to check out http://www.falloutwiki.com/Fallout_3_perks and see if anything catches your eye. I often find that the key to me enjoying an RPG is being able to create a character that I like.
