To Xbox 360 Forum Users

The purpose of this post is to try and adjust some of the behavior I've seen in particular posts and to enlighten you guys as to the purpose of a forum and how an idealistic forum acts.

Definition of a Forum: A meeting or medium where ideas and views on a particular issue can be exchanged.

These ideas can be creations, questions, accomplishments, challenges, changes, opinions, war stories, likes and dislikes, and even criticism! Every forum that is well moderated and has a civil community has a few inherent rules:

1. Treat everyone with respect.
2. Never intend to emotionally harm someone with a post or a reply.
3. If you have a question, search the forums earnestly before posting again.
4. Never revive an old thread.
5. Do not repeatedly bump your own topics. Try to get a moderator to sticky it if it's important.

On top of those, each forum and sub forum has it's own specific/general set of rules.

Do not use usernames, signatures or avatars that:
Do not write private messages and/or e-mails that:
Do not create threads or contributions that:

Include spam or advertisemants.
Are racist or hateful.
Are hostile, vulgar, excessively violent or contains excessive language.
Are illegal.
Are sixually orientated.
Link to or reference hacks or hack websites.
Hijack or maliciously affect users' computers.
Labels others as cheaters/boosters. "Naming & shaming" is not welcomed.

General Rules:

This site supports English only. Please only use English. If English is not your language, please use a translator.
Users are allowed one account. Multiple accounts will be banned.
Do not impersonate Crytek staff. This includes the use of admin avatars and/or names.
Private messages are private so do not publicly post content from PMs. If you need to report a PM the functionality is there to do so.
Signatures are not to be included in your posts. Signature functionality is disabled to keep threads clutter-free so please don't attempt to circumvent this.
Cheating/Hacking threads are not allowed. This is to prevent arguments and threads on these topics will be deleted without notice. Repeat posters may receive warnings/bans.
Threads addressed to people are not to be created. Use the Private Message system to contact people.
NB: Terms of Service rules may also be applicable.

The intent of these discrete and inherent rules is for you to follow them. If your choice is to not follow them you not only represent the game poorly but also the community that plays it scaring away potential players. Forums are positive places where people can go to seek advice, ask a question, post up their own content, generate constructive criticism, etc. Please, adhere to these basic rules and the quality of your guys' forum will sky rocket. I understand that some of you guys are new to the idea of an internet community that is polite (Us PC users have it easy, because we're on the PC all day and are exposed to forum communities), so I am not reprimanding anyone in any way.

A Word on Trolls
No matter how positive the community or how good its' moderators, there will always be trolls; people whose intent is to create discord and anguish for anyone and everyone. The only way to defeat a troll is to not respond to them ever. Alert an admin and allow them to take care of the situation instead of righteously trying to vindicate the troll yourself which only makes it worse.

A Word on Etiquette
Your guy's desire should be to help one another. The thought that your community is so small yet you go to such great lengths to tear it apart is counter intuitive. Please, make it your joy to aid everyone on the forum. If someone posts something you disagree with and you are unable to respond in a way that is not offensive, do not respond at all. Maturity is the name of the game.

Sorry for the long post.

Love,

SDub

I speak English all the time, and yet still people don't understand me Mr Dub. They label me troll! They label me Hater! They Label me anti-crysis.

But it wasnt always like this. I use to be regarded as the one true moderator on the Xbox 360 Forum. People who now loathe me once revered me, and respected my ideals. But I use to fight battles for "The People" or the other Crysis Gods. It was unanimous that C4 was bad for the game, and I faught righteously to have it removed from clan matches and those with respected clan members in a competative scrim. Now I have exposed these Gods as mere mortals without the use of Aim Enhance 3. And there is outrage!

People say that I'm bad for the game, and that I post nonsense, but I could not disagree more. If CryTek hired me on their QA/QC staff, I'd ensure that Crysis 3 never releases, becuase I'm totally confident that most of this games problems won't be rectified. Does this make me a troll? I guess it does to some, but I just have higher standards then the company which made the game that has hooked us, and caused some to ardently defend its obvious faults.

Coming from the PC, Chance, War, and Dub, you guys dont quite know how it feels to have to self soothe knowing that there are so many issues on console that were never addressed. We were left fending for ourselves, and used diplomacy when it was effective for bringing upon positive change. But the time for diplomacy is long gone to us. It's human nature to try and work things out, but the culture here has already been set. People suddenly being nice would only come off as disingenuous and fake, and to quote the rapper Jadakiss in the Song Who's Real?:

He's phony, she's fake
That's the type of people I hate
If you're real and you know it, clap your hands
If you're real and you know it, clap your hands
