[REQ] Realism & gameplay adjustment ports from MMM and X

Post » Mon Mar 01, 2010 2:16 pm

I find Fallout:NV unplayable now without them. Every single time I sneak up on a raider and shoot them 3 times square in the face, only to have it take half their life, I just want to ram my fist through the screen. 10 bullets to the face to kill one person is not the right way to increase difficulty.

That's why I loved having Xfo's realism adjustment for shooting ( your skill affects your accuracy, not your damage ), XFO's re-balancing, MMM's better respawns and more respawns.

I recommend Arwen's Realism Tweaks till one of your favorites makes an appearance in the NV moding scene.

another ART recommendation here.

though i must tell you its just in its early stages. also, ART doesnt make your skill affect accuracy, not damage (at east not yet - and to my knowledge, no mod does this yet since the settings that affect those dont seem to be working) or touch respawns.

From what I've seen, the thing that keeps me away from ART is that it's one esm. It's not modular like XFO or MMM was. That's what I need.

It'll be modular soon enough whenever NVSE releases. What you see now is just a small portion of the true mod in progress.

Also, you do know that some parts from the Fallout 3 version of ART were used in FWE, right?

might not be as modular as he would like though. while ART will have different modules, each module pretty much has fixed settings.

and i believe Arwen herself said that only an early version of her smarter AI module was used in an early build of FWE. both are quite different in their later versions i think.

Yeah I'm gonna try that tonight.

Although for the life of me I don't get why some people are so against getting more HP as you level up. Maybe not a HUGE amount, but none? If you had to walk a couple hundred miles in the desert while carrying 100lbs of stuff, I'd guarantee your endurance would benefit. You'd be one fit MFer.

From what I heard from community, Xodarap777 stoped modding Fallout games. As a huge fan of his XFO mod, it was disasterous news for me. But as other friends have said here, Arwen's mod looks promising. I was using some of ART modules along with XFO in F3 and her new version for NW also looks but. However we may need to wait for a while before she completes that mod because it is in very early stages. I tried it out and saw that there is a lot of work to be done.

Yeah his looks ok but after playing XFO's, I just can't seriously consider a 'realism' mod that doesn't change the points to affect accuracy and not damage. I could have never picked up a gun in my life or I could be the effing Punisher but both picking up guns and shooting would never have any impact on how much bullets hurt....only maybe the likelihood of a critical hit. Noob gun shooter hits someone in the chest in the lung, Punisher hits someone in the chest twice in the heart.

And I've tried Hardercore and so far it needs a wee bit of tweaking but I like it.

You should try the Fallout - New FPS mod and the Realistic headshot mod. The FPS mod I believe lowers everyones HP drastically and raised the damage of guns so the gameplay is a lot like a FPS shooter. The Realistic headshot mod makes headshots almost gaurenteed on humanoid type characters (yours included) unless they're wearing a high DT helmet of some type.

I'm hoping someone releases a mod sometime soon that makes gun/energy skills effect the accuracy instead of power as well. What I'd love even more if there was a mod that made weapons unusable unless you had the prereqs for it and increased skill in gun/energy made the guns even more accurate instead of powerful.
