Is the Dovahkiin that powerful? & question about C. Vile

Hey all, I recently did the Daedric quest for C. Vile, & it brought up some question for me. So when he is disunited with Barbus (the dog) he was at half power, and the you (Dovahkiin) were about as powerful as him in his current state. Now I knew the Dovahkiin & all the "chosen one's of the gods" in every game were super powerful, but I never knew they were that powerful.

This also brought another question to my mind, "If Dovahkiin summoned Vile fully and beat him, that would be the 2nd time Vile was beaten by a mortal (Cyrus & with the Hoonding) yes both times with the help of a god yes, but mortals none the less.

So what im asking is, is Vile really just that weak or are these just unfortunate circumstances be was in, & is the Hoonding/ Dovahkiin/ any other gift of power from the gods really THAT powerful?

The Thu'um is not to be trifled with, and player characters are usually more capable than most individuals in almost any endeavor they set themselves in, blessed or not. Add in the prospect that he or she is a Shezzarine, and you have a recipe for trouble.
