Stealth and Amour are decoupled and sprinting is unlimited. Do you guys know what this means? This means that essentially they removed an entirely unique aspect to this game: Energy Management. Essentially they replaced it with a muscle memory: press "(armor button)" when you get into a fight, press "(stealth button)" everywhere else. The beauty of C2 was that you had to use your energy wisely when scaling multiple levels. It meant you had to know areas of hostility and know when to use your energy and when to conserve it. It also balanced stealth mode, because people who run and gun w/stealth typically had less energy than people who primarily used armor. By making this awful, awful change, they made the type of play pigeon holed, and they made this game significantly less unique and incredibly more like CoD, and you never hear me saying that. I hate this.

Energy cosumption was f'ked up in C2 IMO. This is way better. Armor will actually be useful now. I never understood why sprinting consumed energy, but I'm really glad they removed it. And no more SE either.

@OP
I'd normally complain about duplicate threads but since the forums are half dead...

Did they say SE was removed from MP? Cause in the module selection thing I can see a cloak picture of the nanosuit with a clock beside it

No, Stealth Enhance is not removed. He means you probably won't need to use it anymore, since sprinting, jumping, and sliding aren't going to drain your stealth energy, leaving you more for running around cloaked. And this will definitely remove the need for Mobility Enhance for players that used it religiously. So those people will start using another module, instead. The same goes for Armor Enhance.

we don't know how fast the energy is going to drain from armor and stealth plus the maps seem to be bigger so it will probably balance out.

That's true. They could significantly increase the drain rate, but it's too early to tell because they STILL haven't showed us any multiplayer footage. "Hunter, Hunter, Hunter, let's talk about Hunter for 9 months straight in every single interview!!!! Y'all wanna keep hearing the same exact thing over and over, and nothing else, right?!?! Of course you do! Let's talk about Hunter!" Ugh. Is it so much to ask for just one gameplay video of instant action, already?

Sdub, you have no idea how proud of you I am at this moment in time, speaking out for the Crysis 2 players that earned their place, I'm extremely glad to see I wasn't the only person witnessing the collapse of the term "game," Crytek has screwed us all.

"Next we shall have the good runner's shins beaten so the fat men trying to compete in the race have a fair chance"-Crytek Logic

Games have always been about adapt or perish. I agree, I hate this new direction.

When you think about it from a scientific point of view, the Nanosuit has been improved. Now it is not just for hit&run, but a much more advanced bio-weapon.

I mean, anything less would've been stupid. Perhaps what Crytek are doing, is what scientists would do in reality.

They confirmed it long ago. Stealth Enhance wasn′t removed, but implemented on the nanosuit, same as the rest of the most used modules. Which means this version of the nanosuit will have the same stealth drain as the other with SE being used.

Also, we know of it will go, stealth consumes energy the faster you move, doesn′t matter if the speed itself also drains energy. So SE level of consumption + extra drain if sprinting like in C1 + even faster draining while running with the "Maximun Speed" module.

Fluff be damned. The meta game of Energy Management has been totally destroyed. I am going to write an objective and comprehensive article on why it should stay the same and submit it to the moderators and get support for it with the community. I doubt it will do anything but if this stays the way it is, I will be avoiding C3 MP competitive scene at all costs.

It was not at all. If you think that, you were doing it wrong. Play a 1v1 against me and tell me that Armor isn't useful. There are 2 styles of play: one governed by stealth, and one governed by armor usage. You can mix and match them, but they are most effective when separate. This change has teared an entire rift in those two schools of thought and forces me to not be a unique player, and use stealth while traversing, and use armor when in a fight. I don't even have to worry about energy from running or jumping anymore, that thought process is out the door. This over-simplification is done for the half-wits who can't stand to think more than the average 7 year old. It is done for the simple idea of sales.

CRYTEK BUSINESS MODEL: If we make this game easier, more people will buy it.

Yes I realize I am over-simplifying and being irrational, but I am a very upset gamer right now.

I'm gonna play devils advocate here because I agree with what all you guys are saying about energy management and how it was a big (maybe should have been better implemented though) part of Crysis 2 gameplay.

But the silver lining that I'm hoping for here is that the multiplayer will be totally different from Crysis 2.
Crysis 2's problems were also energy related, the fact that every one ran the same cookie cutter loadout that boosted energy. Even though there were modules to combat this style of loadout, it was still kinda powerful and annoying because it was producing stale gameplay.

What C3 brings to the table is an all new kind of power, with infinite sprint, separate cloak and armor energy bars. This changes gameplay for the better in my opinion. You wont have to worry about trifling matters like suit energy and possibly this would make gameplay more interesting. It would make it fast and more intense for one thing and with the addition of maximum speed (which I hope is a thing) no more crying OP stealth and OP armor. Think rock, paper, scissors gameplay..

Imagine the possibilities if all 3 suit functions were pushed to the extreme, absolute invisibility, maximum speed, and maximum armor equating you to a walking tank.
Imagine the battles - Cloaked nanosuit disappearing and reappearing from different sides (just being a pain in the arse), a walking tank trying to shoot a flying nanosuit mosquito.

I would love this kind of empowering gameplay provided for all 3 styles of play that the Crysis franchise provides us.. (Speed, cloak, armor) - You don't have to copy battlefield style MP or CoD, just be Crysis goddammit...

End of rant/wishful thinking

Although yeah, if MP is like C2 then... leave your brain behind....just go nuts.
