Was anybody else disappointed in The Strip?

Was anybody else disappointed in the NV Strip? I felt like it was going to be bigger, more spacious, and more densely populated. After spending all that time running around the Mojave getting ever closer and closer, all the nights i spent eating gecko steaks and drinking whiskey gazing at the neon skyline in the distance imagining how cool it is going to be to be inside of those walls, and then i get there and it is a couple buildings with practically no one in them? I thought it was going to be VEGAS, compared to vegas this was like an Indian casino next to a truck stop or something. The casinos had nobody in them, the Mojave Desert was more populated than that, why do i need to check my weapons? Am i going to lose all my money and shoot MYSELF? I spent little to no time on the Strip if i didnt HAVE to be there. Sad.

Don't get me wrong, i LOVED New Vegas as a game, loved it. But i feel like they could have done better with the strip.

And you should be able to open the Lucky 38 for business if you take it over from House. I felt like that was inevitable, it was the biggest casino in the game, but it just sits there, what a bleeping waste of space. Totally disappointed.

I expected it to be a little cleaner. That is everything in FO uses those same 200 year old grime textures. I expected the strip to be a bit cleaner and better kept. I think they had to limit the size so our consoles wouldn't explode! Apparently no-one every picks up around their houses or businesses, or cleans anything, or repairs walls, etc. I would expect more sign of human industry around more permanent settlements.

It was all those things. Until they tried to run the game on the consoles and most PCs that folks have to play the game. The number of NPCs was reduced so the various systems, note I include PC here, could run the game while you were in the strip. There are some mods for the PC version that make the strip bigger and even make Freeside one cell. But, unless you have some serious hardware, the game chugs with these mods.

As for cleaning it up, I would think that both Freeside and the Strip would be better maintained. True, one of the signs of a dysfunctional government is trash and litter in the streets, so I can see why it was included from an artistic standpoint. But, in a world where little is being manufactured, people would have collected trash and tin cans just for recycling and raw materials to make what is needed to live.
