so there i was with jericho, dogmeat and sticky when we were attacked by raiders, so i hear in the background "lets make up a stor.....BOOM

after the battle i go to see what happened, i found a destroyed car and sticky's arm, i then found the rest of sticky face down in the nearby river

it turned out, jericho gattled the car causing it to explode and kill sticky

I was at some kind of water refinery or something....forgot the name of it but it has a bunch of spherical tanks and some stairs/railways. I was picking off raiders with the blackhawk and there was only one left up the stairs so I decided to rush him with a power fist. He yelled "it's killing time!" just seconds before I entered VATS and socked him so hard he bent over backwards on a rail like a mohawked pretzel and slid very slowly to the ground below. All I could say was "yes. yes it is."

Yeah I know not hysterical or anything but it made me chuckle. :mohawk:

I came out of the library in Arlington Library and had started heading north. As I neared the Citadel, I saw that the BoS dudes on the roof perches were in a firefight with a Super Mutant and a Centaur at street level. The Centaur was doing it's best to spit up to the roof, and failing. All of a sudden one of the BoS dudes goes flying, like he thought he was Superman or something. I was like...WTF? After I helped finish off the baddies, I looked for his body so I could get the holotag. He was way out in the street past the debris piles. Unreal.

What does this have to do with FONV?

I was tearing my way through Evergreen Mills with Charon, and had been looting pretty much everything in my path, so I was so ludicrously overburdened I should probably have imploded into a singularity. As I approach Smiling Jacks niche I hear one of the remaining raider's yell out "It's Killin' Time", out of sight around the corner. Charon runs past me and out of sight, wielding a flame thrower. A second later the raider comes rushing past me, on fire, yelling "screw this, I'm out of here."

I was making my way through the DC ruins, and suddenly a supermutant master shoots a missile at me. It cripples me, and I am pissed at being sneak attacked by the cpu, so I pull out my rocket launcher. I shoot and the supermutant shoots...bam. Our missiles collided in mid air. I was so awe struck that I did not see the next missile coming, which unfortunately blew me into tiny pieces!

Dude, trust me...it happened about a week into the release of fallout 3, and I even made a thread about it on this site. No video, but the probability of two colliding missiles is low in itself. Its kinda hard to test.

missiles are a solid object so i would expect a collision to cause an explosion

just like when spells collide on oblivion

has got a lock on missiles in VAT before but only with 0% chance for hit. If the missiles are proximity fused like spells in Oblivion so the go off then to close to something this is plausible in a shootout where the shooters are facing each other the missiles has to pass very close to each other and a 30cm proximity distance would set them off.

Not used missiles much but does the detonate if the pass to close to something? Remember in Oblivion any obstacles like ropes stops spells.

And yes any object you can pick up act as a shield and stop the bullets, work no mater that the items is, clothing work just as well as power armour, barrels and other large objects is obviously best. Work against any weapon but you still take area effect damage and damage from bullets who miss the shield but not you.

The downside to holding something to block bullets is that the bullets can cause it to hit you and cause damage. It won't be as much damage as the bullet would have caused, but it'll still be some.
