Heres mine:
Setting:Valenwood, not too long after the events of tes5 but a good decade or two.
First scene:You will wake up to find yourself among a group of political prisoners in a forrest enclosure surrounded by thalmor guards. There will be a justiciar giving a speech. The bosmer next to you will fill you in on what's going on
- A second great war is on the horizon
- The thalmor are losing their power over the other provinces after the uprising in skyrim (they don't know who won the civil war, only that shortly after they threw out all of the thalmor
- Says that all of this is because the thalmor are scared out of their minds over rumours of valenwood (equivalent of jarls ?) plotting an uprising
- Makes a comment about it not being safe to be out in the forrests any more
- Asks you for your story (choose your character etc.)
Then a couple of the prisoners, including the one you were talking to, will cut of their bindings revealing themselves to be imperial soldiers (more come out of the forrest) and they kill off all of the thalmor except the justiciar who they beat to their knees. The captain/commander starts question the justiciar on thalmor movement while the guy next to you starts releasing the other prisoners.
The commander tells the prisoners that it is no longer safe for them to stay in valenwood and that they should make their way to imperial provinces, telling one of them to report the infiltration mission as a success to the emporer (maybe the dragonborn emporer ?) After they leave there will be a wierd noise from the trees and a couple of plants will start to mutate into mosters (similar to the gnarls from shivering isles). After you and the soldiers fight them off the captain will say something is very wrong (duh) and will appologise to the guy who freed you for ignoring his warnings. He will then say that (insert bosmer noble name) the (jarl-like title) of (whiterun equivalent city) needs to be warned. One of the soldiers will then say that all of them will be recognised, the guy who freed you will then say that you were not meant to be with the party (were just caught up in the mess as per usual) and that you would be able to go unnoticed. So you go to deliver it.
Mainquest storyline:Something along the lines of, something is changing about the forest. Clear signs of the ever-winter (an apocolyptic bosmer event) dont want to go into too much detail as I think bethesda should really decide on the mainquestCivil war type questline:This time the choice is between the thalmor and their loyal bosmer (jarl like people) or the (jarl like people ) and the imperial forces. I think the civil war was a very good aspect of skyrim but I think there are ways it could be improvedAfter taking over a city you get to decide what happens to the (jarl like person)- Keep them in power (change the guard to the faction): this will keep the jarl + neutral citizens happy but will annoy your faction + chance of city getting retaken*
- Exile: Same as in skyrim, will upset the other faction citizens, you must also choose a replacement out of a list of candidates which will affect the reaction of others
- Execution: Will enrage other faction members who may end up rebelling, but zero chance of city getting retaken
More dinamic civil warWhat always confused me is why the opposing faction never tried to retake cities in skyrim, and that is what I would like to change- Usurption: Someone within the city will take over the castle (or whatever) and will start to bring in other faction troops, can be stopped by killing or otherwise dealing with the usurper
- Neighboring (hold equivalent): The region (hold) next to a recently taken over city may try to take over the city (if an oposing faction) can be dealt with through negotiations, paying off the leader, or causing trouble within their (hold)
- Opposing faction invasion: The main force of the opposing faction (i.e rebels or thalmor) will attack the city, must simply be defended until all invaders are killed.
