[REL] Fellout NV

Post » Tue Mar 02, 2010 11:01 pm

Already ranked 17th on Nexus, but if you haven't heard of it already, you have now. At the 0.9 release (I just start at 0.1 and increment), it seems complete and well tested enough to go announcing, so here it is: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34888

Same story as Fellout for FO3, darker nights, natural days, realistic lighting. You know Fellout by now.

I have no issues with the general lighting and colours of the New Vegas weather, but I sure missed Fellout's darker nights. :D

Man I was out in the south part of the map at night with Fellout and it was pitch black. I had to use my varmint rifles night scope to navigate, otherwise I was literally stumbling around blind.
Thanks for Fellout, it's so awesome :)

I've wondered a lot why Obsidian put in things like night vision scopes and the cateye item as well as an entire damned perk for it, then didn't make any nights or any dark areas.

And I believe I found an answer. The sand storms around Hidden Valley and in the dry lakebeds are alpha blended, which means they can only ever get brighter and aren't affected by lighting. Indeed, they look like they're glowing with Fellout and there's nothing I can do about it short of disabling them.

So I wonder whether Obsidian intended darker nights but then had to settle on just making the sky darker and leaving the lighting full-on so the sandstorms wouldn't look bad?

Hello at everyone
Can someone integrate the Darker nights of Fellout in this http://newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=34979
Or can someone integrate the Darker Nights to http://newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35570 and send a download Link with a pm to me?
It would be great when someone can release a alternative Weather Mod of Fellout.

My Feedback for Fellout
has not yet realistic colors. URWL is there a little bit more realistic, i think.
To short days
to long night....... the Vanilla Times are perfectly

Does Fellout affect the time scale of longer nights ?
Thought it only altered the colors etc, the timescale im sure you can set manualy throught consol yourself and set it how you like it.

I compared Fellout with two other weather mods.
and to me it seems so that the nights start earlier and days later.
I can also have fallen in love^^

but it would be possible if someone could change one of the other two mods for me?
I would like to keep the colors of the URWL mod and the dark nights from Fellout.
With the other mods, are the Nights in the areas around of Vegas and on the strip too bright.

Or can someone explain me how to set the colors?
can i change the colors in the weather settings?

I don't know anything about editing the weather with GECK.

Some of Fallout 3's flying dust is also brighter than they should be at night, but there it's not so obvious because the dust is already gray'ish.

At the risk of offending the OP, is it possible to have a version of Fellout that does not have darker nights?

I think the current NV is too bland in its color palate. I am happy with the "brighter" nights, because I am not playing the game for a challenge. I play it to forget about my work, and kill a few things before I go back to work :)

So I'd love a greener world with better skys and color, while keeping everything else the same.

Thanks.

Excellent mod. In the pitch black of the night, with nothing more than my pipboy light giving me the ability to see a little ways, I have had multiple close encounters that nearly made me jump out of my seat with surprise. The game is +100% more suspenseful now that I can't see 1000 meters in every direction when its supposed to be pitch black.

Is there a brighter pipboy to go along with the darker nights, like there was in FO3?

Well, I hope someone is going to make a Night Vision mod, because its really needed with Fellout. No idea if the animated Night Vision Goggles can be ported yet and if the orginal author allows it. Anyway, glad to see this classic mod for New Vegas.
