Because Bethesda is in the video game making business, not the toy making business.

But desplay models would be good :tops:

Why does franchises have to have action figures?
"But X Y and Z had some."
So?

Again, so what?
I bet some people would love to have Fallout lighters, Fallout rulers, Fallout bath toys, Fallout shower gel, Fallout keyboard, Fallout wallpaper, Fallout bottle opener, Fallout nvde slide pen, Fallout alarm clocks and so on and so forth.
But so what if they want it?

I don't see why merchandise matter, at all.
And I don't see why the demand matters either.

Can they make a profit? Sure.
But I'd rather they hire some smaller studio to make a Fallout game to be released on XBLA, PSN and Steam/Origin than have them produce Fallout curling irons.
And they could make a profit out of a smaller game as well.

So again, so what if people want merchandise? There are better ways to spend money to earn profit.
With a game we can at least get new lore, with a Fallout wallet we can't really do anything.
We can store money and cards in it, but so can we in a regular wallet.
So if I can buy a regular cup holder why would I want to buy a Fallout cup holder?
It's not like I can just go out and buy Halo and then delude myself into thinking that I'm playing Fallout.

I know I'm being very pessimistic and I know others want this kind of stuff (for which reasons is incomprehensible to me).
But I still fail to see how it's a better use of money than it is to hire a small development studio to produce a bite-sized game.

Some people want Fallout to have marriage in it.
But so what? It doesn't matter if they want marriage in it, it doesn't fit into the Fallout series to romantically get married.
And in my opinion, Fallout nail clippers don't fit in either.

(I know I know, I'm being "extreme", but a Fallout CD case would be far more practical than a figurine would.)
((Though honestly, despite this post, I don't really care "that" much if they were to do them))

snip
They would actually study the market to see what would gain more money. If it was merchandise then they would make that, but as there is little to none clearly they wouldn't make much of a profit from it.

Of course, I understand that.

So, that is why merchandise matters. Obviously though it wouldn't make enough profit for them right now.

I'm more for stuff that you can wear, so... I wouldn't mind that NCR T-shirt people got around/before the release of New Vegas ;) Or something like a dark-red sleeveless T-shirt with a black bull on the chest.

If someone really wanted to they could make a dark red shirt with a bull on it and have no problems with copyright whatsoever.
