Fallout 2: Toxic Waste Dump Encounter.

Post » Thu Oct 11, 2012 4:52 pm

I don't expect to get to much info but I am at my limit. So I am asking for help. I might even lose my mind and sign up to MMA to ask this.

Ok so I have been spending the last couple of days playing the crap out of Fallout 2. I am trying to find and record all the special random encounters for Fallout 2.

I have been playing with characters with really high outdoorsman and 10 Luck and Perception and levels in the high 20s.

I have found them all.. all but one and that is the Toxic Waste Dump Encounter. I know it is found in desert areas of the map. But is there anything else I am missing? Is it super duper rare? It must be because I am pulling out my hair trying to find it. Spending my time walking around the deserts of Fallout 2 world map, my eye feel like they might bleed from watching the screen so long.

Is it found in some special area of the map? Am I missing something?! If so please let me know.

Edit: I forgot to add that I have explore, ranger and scout perks.

IIRC it's one of the rarest encounters out there. At least it is to me, I just got it for the first time a month or two ago.

EDIT- I thinks its a Kharma encounter. Text when you get it reads "Who did you piss off to get stuck in this?" or something to that effect.

Thiugh it's just a guess.

Can you recall what type of character you where when you encountered it? A slaver or something. My characters normally have good karma.

Don't forget to take the Explorer perk.

Don't forget to take the Explorer perk.

I forgot to mention I have the explore perk, as well as ranger and scout. Each of them gives you and edge on finding special encounters.

One character I had had all three of those perks, 10 luck and perception as well as 255 outdoorsman and hours of nothing.

I've seen a lets play where a http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XubzewshdRk got the encounter with just 3 luck in the desert just south of the Den. Maybe you need to be unlucky to get it.

That is what I'm thinking. You should try an unlucky character.

I think it's just a matter of grinding it, it's just rare.

It is super freaking rare. I have been grinding for days now. I have encountered every encounter at least four times now. Yet not this one.

I read somewhere it is only found in deserts. But this idea that it is a low luck encounter, there might be something to it. If only I knew how to open the game files find out for myself. But if it was a low luck encounter why isn't Mad Brahmin one as well. Both are encounters that give you nothing and are very likely to kill the player at a low level. Everything I have been able to find says to get the encounters you need the perks, and high luck and perception. At least if you want to see them more often.

I will just keep grinding away at it. I have become a man obsessed!

I only encountered it once and I've been playing the game sense it was released. It is ultra-rare, but you already know that. Let us know if you get it because I am now curious about the luck thing as well.
Good luck, and I'm sorry I wasn't any help!
