They really are a disturbing mirror on our own America. Protesters rounded up for Big MT experiments. Prisoners used for the same purpose. Detaining all the Chinese and using them for experiments. Annexing Canada. Experimenting on towns. Building vaults designed to kill everyone in the interest of some scientific study. ETC.

How much of this do you think was a wartime twisting of their America and how much was already there before the war? Talk about a society set up by the NRA -- guns and ammo everywhere, drugs everywhere. FEV experiments.

And how come all the metal robots are fine 200 years after the war, but all the cars are rusted, even the ones that are in buildings?

I read a book not too long ago -- Damnation Alley (not the movie, the book is totally different). They had just had a nuclear war too, but things weren't quite so torn up. Kind of an interesting take on it.

I'd say it's at least x10 more corrupt than the American Government today. They lured survivors into vaults just to expirement on them and see how they adapted.
