Why has Falinesti recently stopped moving?

Does anyone have any ideas on why it is that the ex-capital of Valenwood named Falinesti recently (4E) stopped walking and rooted itself for the first time in recorded history? Are there any particular theories or ideas as to why it has, such as something regarding the Aldmeri Dominion, or is it simply explainable by some natural means?

Smart money says that TES VI is going to, at least in part, be set in Valenwood and the technology just isn't up to par to faithfully portray a walking tree-city.

Falinesti was a free roaming hist unsatisfied with hivemind life that decided to look around Nirn. Eventually he saw the signs of the oblivion crisis and decided to communicate with the root network again.
