Bought old X-Box just for this game, and.......

I've played Oblivion and Skyrim on the 360, and because of the lore references, I want to tackle Morrowind. Now I know the basic character set (coming off the boat) up is nothing like Skyrim, so if I enjoyed my Oblivion character set up, do you think I should just copy that, or is Morrowind that different from Oblivion?

The main gameplay differences, as far as I'm concerned, is that the combat is more skill based and there's no helpful quest compass. If you face an enemy and slash your sword against him, you may see the sword slash thru the enemy but still be a miss because the Long Blade skill isn't high enough. Oh, and the stealth kinda svcks :P

But if you can live with those differences, I think you will enjoy Morrowind too.

That said, the 360 is backwards compatible with the Xbox version of Morrowind, so you didn't really need to buy a Xbox for it. And I would still recommend the PC version over this, with longer viewing distance, much shorter loading times and so on. And since the game is now over a decade old, it runs rather well even on a "bad" computer.

Thank You Kindly. Rumor has it that the backwards comp. for the 360 pretty much svcks, and it plays better on the original x-box. Anyway, your advice in regards to playing on a PC is rightious, I just gotta get off my lazy ass and do it! I was thinking my first PC game should be Fall Out New Vegas inleau of Morrowind....any advice/suggestions?

This is the general consensus.

But as said above, even the slowest laptop outperforms any Xbox with Morrowind. And you can also use patches/tools to boost performance even more.
