Indoor Zombie Survival

I never had Fallout 3, so many of you folks may not have the same enthusiasm on this topic as me, but i'm really aching to see a few Zombie Survival mods in New Vegas, mainly because i'm so proud of the whole fps setup, and the freedom to use any weapon i can find, and ofcourse that bullet-time mod!

I had this idea of creating an interior, that was a bit of a maze with many twists and turns, that could be used exclusively for some serious shootouts. I have been looking in the GECK and i think the Nellis AFB Hangars are amazing. They aren't too big but i think if it were filled with crates and given some interesting lighting, it would be great. However i have little or no experience with creating a full mod. I have made things for Oblivion in the past but i don't think i finished single project. I would love to hear some ideas, to get the ball rolling, but mainly, i just have a few questions i'd like to ask;

- Is Hangar 1 of Nellis AFB used for anything? Hangar 2 contains the aircraft that is being worked on, but as far as i can tell Hangar 1 has no use. I would just like to know this because this could function as the perfect location, as then i wouldn't have to edit any terrain to fit in the hangar. If the Hangar is in use for something, how could i divert the use elsewhere?

- Would it be possible to have a handful of ghouls (or other enemies) capable of spawning endlessley into a location? This would require some kind of entrance that the player would not use, perhaps a crate or air duct. I would like it so maybe 10 enemies are present at any one time, and upon one dying, another would somehow enter not long after.

- Is there any reliable knowledge on how much more processing freedom i would have to add detail and NPC's, gained by the fact that am placing this in an interior, and fighting against monsters and not NPC's. I am aware that a big hog on processing power is down to the game processing NPC's and specifically facial expressions, so would the gain in using Ghouls for example, be enough for me to reliable pit the player against 10, in a high detail environment?
