What's the Latest on Mod Download Sites?

Post » Thu Mar 04, 2010 9:11 am

It's about time I get back into Morrowind modding.

(We went through a lot of family crisis with our little boy, finally got a full diagnosis. Turns out he has Aspergers as well as ADHD and OD. What a combination. At least now we know what is going on with him and he is on the right meds.)

Anyway, Morrowind has kept calling to me. And it is time I answered that call again.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But first things first, I need to get caught up on mods, modder resources and such, and also what mods may be not available right now. So a few questions:

1. Is ElricM all OK now, or are they still getting hit by the attempted viruses?
2. Any new mod download sites?
3. What download sites and modder sites are gone and need thier mods made available again?

And a last Off-Topic. I like the main new look on these forums, but the bright white against black strains my eyes some. (Getting old...) How do I change that?

1. ElricM has been given the ok a few times, but they've had a few issues pop back up. I'm not sure if they're a main site, but definitely haven't fallen from the top 10 (or higher).

2. The big ones are PES and the Nexus, no other major ones I know of. Everything's on those two, with the occasional bits on private sites or filesharing.

3. Not many recently, and quite a few archives are available. Everybody's getting better about that. You might do a quick search (I may have missed some threads).

As for the forums... Nobody likes the new version, but they won't change it back. Some folks found out how to mod the forums (oh the irony :P), there's a thread or two in the general (I think Yacoby started it).

For the rest of it, welcome back and good to hear you found out what was up (still not good, though). :)

Happy you are back my friend =) Mind you not all cases of Aspbergers are bad ones, the one who made Pokemon suffered from pretty nasty Aspbergers and he created one helluva popular game franchise. I have faith in you and your boy, you'll be fine! =)

As for resources, well... Everything and anything I make for my project:
http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1077252-wip/
Is freely avaliable for anyone, there is a very early alpha with some meshes and textures but at this stage I'd say nothing in that alpha is final.

Cheers =)

Elric's seems to be working fine, since that little scare about a month ago. Although melian said she was having trouble with an upload, I haven't seen anyone else mention any problems. http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1080721-elricm-mod-site-is-up.
Stacet has a http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1053026-mods-from-the-former-khalazza-production-forums/ regarding the Khalazza Productions stuff, and Ronin has an assorted bag of goodies http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/971139-recovered-mods-and-closed-download-sites-euromorrowind/. You might have already gone through those, but I thought I'd point them out. And http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1067726-looking-for-these-resources-by-lady-e about Lady E's stuff. Midgetalien recently mentioned somewhere that he's got everything reuploaded at PES, though.

Not everything, but any means. Plenty of people continue to keep their files on their own sites. But if you mean those are have the largest compilations, other than Elric's, I'd completely agree with you.

Hi, redwoodtreesprite. Welcome back to Morrowind modding.

You seem to have a huge mod database.

This made me wonder if, by any chance, you would happen to have some old Moogle (Mog) mods/resources in your database. In the http://www.gamesas.com/?showtopic=1017375, we've been trying to gather all the links we could find, but there are still some eluding us:

- http://marbred.rethan-manor.net/page18.htm by Marbred
Original filename: Mog Statues Resource.zip. Unfortunately the author doesn't have it anymore.

- http://marbred.rethan-manor.net/page16.htm by Marbred (Original filename: Moglits.7z)
Another mod Marbred lost in hard drive failure.
There is http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=7540. It has a german esp. We're trying to locate the original english version.

- Koorishima: Mog Island by Darkwolf82 & Others
This one was a project which got dropped. There once was a WIP thread on the forums but it is not available anymore.

We also found http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v479/Ger-MW/Morrowind/, possibly by Ger. As for Koorishima Island, we can't tell for sure if any part of it has ever been released.

Those are the ones we know of. Obviously we would welcome any other Mog-related stuff you (or any other forumer) could find.

Thanks. :tops:

Welcome back, RedwoodTreeSprite, you were missed. Be sure to check out http://www.fliggerty.com. Also, I'm not sure if you were around when Fliggerty began hosting so many of the early mods, including yours at http://modhistory.fliggerty.com/.

Hey rwts! Good to see you around! :hehe:

Yeah, not sure if you are too familiar with Morrowind Modding History. With the help of Horny_Buddha, Ronin, and several others we managed to track down several thousand mods and such that were available at other sites that have gone defunct. So if you're missing something, look for it there.

Funny, we must have summoned you...what were we talking about you for recently.....?

Hello redwoodtreesprite!

Nice to meet you. I'm new to modding, though I've been playing Morrowind since it came out. I have two little mods on PES and am working on a third.

I found this http://tesall.ru/files/morrowind/replacers/?page=1 recently. They seem to be mirroring a lot of mods, but I think there's also some original stuff there, so you might want to check it out.
