a 71 year old man despairs at the complexity of mods!

hi all.

this here "old man" freestone, old at 71 years, a stream sale got me to have vegas installed and then I began to look for mods on the "top 100" at nexus.

and i thought Oblivion modding was complicated. I saw wonderful-looking but vastly complex mods, all tendril-ing into each other with patch after patch and "use this optional mod if you use *that* mod", my head swims.

I cannot keep all of this in my head.

So.
I wonder if i should just play vanillia with only the patches then add a few texture mods?

or...is there a mod compilation like the STEP series for skyrim or the SOUNDS AND GRAPHICS mods for morrowind?

I want to explore rather than fight. to explore a world that is post nuclear war.

I do not want lots of weapons or monsters.
I want in my mods richer dialogues, more places to explore, more content.
I want to see what my 23" ips monitor can do, for good visuals.

I have a not-so-great processor with a ati HD5770 video card. i have 4 gigs ram, win 7 64x.

thank you....freestone
