Landscape Fog

Post » Tue Oct 23, 2012 12:43 pm

while modding my games, i seem to have messed up my distance in which to see fog, u know th enatural fog. Now i dont want it like vanila where u couldnt see past 15 feet in front of ya no matter if it was bright and sunny, but i would like to see a good bit but then see the fog in the background. Does anyone know how i can fix me having that mysterious fog again and if so what can i do to fix it?

Open your main Menu and slide the View Distance slider.

Unless you're using something like the FPS Optimizer or MGE to change the view distance. But since you didn't mention it, I assume not.

Are you using MGE by chance?

There's a fog setting in the morrowind.ini file, if I recall. If you're using MGSO, then change the maximum fog distance in MGE. I use about 5 or 6 as a max, which allows you to see the towers of the Dwemer ruins from Balmora, or barely make out the Vivec Foreign Quarter from the silt strider platform in Seyda Neen, but you can't see across the entire island from a hilltop. It gives a good view while maintaining the sense of mystery.
