And Alduin said, "Ho ha ho."
-The First Fight of the Aldudugga
Alduin is the World-Eater, the greatest and best of his kind and its undisputed Ruling King. He suffers no equal. Eras after he is cast out of time he returns to a world changed, yet he has not decayed in what was, to everyone else, thousands of years. He still has his youthful vigor and arrogance, the desire and strength to lead.
These were the days of the Sons of Skyrim spilling their own blood... Atop the High Hrothgaar, the endless storm whipped and whirled and sprayed eternal cascades of white down the black stone, and Paarthurnax's wings spread white with one million ninety-five thousand frosts, the sun shone crimson from the east through the time-shredded dragon-leather on the snow.
And Paarthurnax said, "Su'um ahrk morah."
Paarthurnax sits hidden from all eyes atop his mountain, in marked contrast to the braggart Alduin. He alone among possibly all dragons has passed alive every single sequential day since his creation and it shows. He has the desire to lead, and perhaps the strength, but that is tempered with the deepest fear of all: the fear of his own inner violence. He stands as the betraying advisor who counsels war.
These were the days of the Great Return... In the endless blue of the sky, the wind broke across the horns of Odahviing, his scales shining a second scarlet sun against the [tops of the clouds]. The air itself screamed with the speed of his coming to the call, as he flew back at last to war.
And Odahviing said, "Ahrk Hin Dir."
Odahviing is the second ally, the free agent working for himself and allying with the strongest at any cost for his own gain. His aid is necessary and invaluable, but not to be trusted and does come at the cost of lives. He is the betraying warrior.
These were the days of my glory and power, when [all fled, alternatively all fell] before my Voice... With frost and fire blowing in my face I Shouted Alduin down, and Paarthurnax sickened at the thrumming of my snow-throat as he fought beside me. Humiliated, the coward Alduin fled to Sovngarde where I slew him.
And I said, "Dovahkiin!"
The Dragonborn is the trickster, the Other, the Outsider. He, with his thu'um and strength and lust for dominance, seemed for all the world a dragon, as Lorkhan seemed for all the world an Aedra, and in the end was the least and best of them all.

Well there's my fan-[censored] for the week and my writing for the evening. Hope y'all enjoyed it. The four main dragon characters of Skyrim being a second set of one god just occurred to me.
