If the content here were all included, I might put New Vegas ahead. If this amount of thought was put on story-telling and decisions, I will easily forgive them for the exploration and moodiness. I just can't help but commend what they would have done if given the time. I even bet the exploration and vastness would have been all included if they just had a year's worth of time.

The amount of complexity is astonishing, I just wish Beth includes some of these ideas on F4

Yeah it svcks Bethesda only gave Obsidian less then a third the time that they spent making Fallout 3 to make Fallout New Vegas. Obsidian still did an awesome job with the short amount of time given. If only they had at least another six months to a year.

I must ask thow. If it had that content you would put New Vegas ahead of what? Fallout 3?

Yeah, what FO3 gave me was Bethesda working really hard to create the mood and the vast wasteland..you can't just create something like this in one day.

What I felt about FO:NV was more focus on the story(not bad) but absolutely no focus on the atmosphere, wasteland and the general mood. But considering all these that were cut, it would have made the game even more interesting considering your decisions carry such a burden. And I bet they would have added more terrain to support the extra cast.

Yes, I agree. I think that if Bethesda can't be completely original that they recycle good ideas in a non-fanservice manner. For instance if we must get a plot revolving around androids and the Institute then take inspiration from Asimov's works instead of using a cliché "everyone's an android" type juvenile foolishness. If we must get a black&white storyline, make it with a villain like Dagoth Ur or Ulysses. If you can't think of a good character, then try to base some off of real life people you know, or just recycle some of the better characters from TES games and force them into Fallout. The Blades in Skyrim, with their PTSD, would pass for Enclave Remnants, for example.

I can't help but fault Obsidian as well. They always try to do more than they can handle. They're still living in the world where you could just push the game's release date at whim, and get away with just a "when it's done". Bethesda aren't the people who let [censored] like that slide, they should have known that before they started dealing with them. Also, Obsidian said that Bethesda had a very mature attitude about NV, so you can't say that they were the evul corporation who said "make the game in one minute or you dieee muhahaha" while eating puppies.
