Just Bought PS3 GOTY Edition

So while wondering around Best Buy this evening I happened upon Fallout 3 GOTY Edition for the PS3. I think to myself, "Hey XXX says this is a really good game, and it's only $20." So I pick it up, ever so carefully and call my brother, Who is majorly into the Fallout Games. "Hey you know of any issues for the PS3 version of this game?" "No, but I've only played it on the PC and I really really think you should get it."

I purchase it and my Girlfriend asks if I'm coming home and playing it right away. I tell her, " Well it's a Bethesda game and I haven't really looked into it too see if it has any real issues, so I'm going to keep it sealed in it's packaging and research it." I am SOOO happy I did that, cause within minutes I see all these horror stories about freezing and such. So the point of thread is to see if the game got a "Final" Patch that made it perform well, since all the info I found was from 2010 I think. If it has received one, well then I may give this game a chance, and if not, well it's going back to Best Buy first thing tomorrow. Thanks in advance!

BTW The reason I pointed out it is a Bethesda game to My Girl is that she plays Skyrim on the Xbox and I play on the PS3, we live together so I have seen how much better her version runs than mine, so she knows about the PS3's dreaded "B" Word

Unfortunately, no. The Ps3 version of Fallout 3 (specifically the DLC) has been plagued by freezing and glitches rendering the game nearly unplayable after a certain point from the DLC's (delayed) release. Bethesda has barely even acknowledged this, let alone released a fix for it. That said, the game really is excellent, and many people including myself have been able to enjoy the Ps3 version of the game despite the rather serious issues. If you're able to get this for PC or Xbox, do that. But otherwise I think it's still worth playing on Ps3, despite the bugs.

Thanks powermapler! Yeah I never really had issues with Oblivion on PS3 except the Vampire Cure Bug, and My issues with Skyrim were relatively small in scale compared to a lot of what other people were experiencing. I think I will just take the game back in the morning and see what other cheap PS3 games they carry. Slightly Disappointed since I don't usually play games involving the use of guns, but I was pretty excited about FO3 GOTY, oh well
